I have a small chain of ice cream parlors in CT. I’m working on right now working on legal documents franchise franchising concept answer best.

Steve’s comment s
you need to set a sign in each branch. Get together a decent booklet. The best way to do this is to go to a competitor, like Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry Cold Stone Creamery, etc. Also look at their web sites online. See what they offer. Get a website. Advertise your site and stores all your marketing materials.

Its just as well that you dont live in Ireland! We would be delighted to have such a system! Count your blessings to live in a wealthy country that subsidises the sick.

Irwin Barkan has done a magnificent job in outlining the journey of a Multi- Billion dollar business. Dunk’d is a Must Read for anyone interesting in the franchise business.

I am a 7 Eleven franchisee, while reading Dunk’d it dawned on me, all franchisors are the same.

From making oral promises, to making it seem as though you are the one that can not run the business. But in actuallity it is the franchisor business model that is flawed.

    I would Highly Recommend Dunk’d.

America Run’s on Dunkins, Maybe it should be Get Dunk’d by Dunkins :)

A MUST READ for ALL FRANCHISEES!!!, June 8, 2011
    By

This book is a first of it’s kind. An insider whistle-blower look at the new Franchiser who is see their “franchisee-partners” as expendable as a worn out freezer compressor… Most of today’s strip mall franchises have broken business models – Quiznos, Cold Stone, Blimpies, Keep-naming-them… – these business models maximize the corporate fees and kickbacks which squeezes the operational life-blood from the franchisee until, in just a matter of time, the franchisor just steps in and takes over the operations and pushes the franchisee out and brings in a new franchisee at full fees for a location that was capitalized by the initial franchisee.

This book is a MUST READ for existing franchisees, future franchisee and those who have traveled the road to financial ruin via the Franchise highway!

An exceptionally well researched book with plenty of firsthand knowledge of how dealing with “Franchise America” can go terribly wrong even with the biggest and supposedly best of BRANDS. Dunkin Donuts! My God, in New England they have as strong a brand as In n Out Burger in the west. BUT, buyer beware. The Franchisor has all the power and even people with as much experience as the author has at business, can get duped into huge losses.

If you are thinking about buying into a franchise you simply have to buy this book as part of your due diligence. If you don’t then , when you get screwed by corporate you will have only yourself to blame.
